Roof Replacement

Roof Replacement in Bristol, Bath & the South West

A new roof built to last decades. When repairs no longer make sense, we strip and rebuild your roof with quality natural slate, clay or concrete tiles — with the timbers, membrane and ventilation done right underneath.

Quick answer

A full re-roof involves stripping the old covering, checking and repairing the timbers, fitting new breathable membrane and battens, then laying new tiles or slate. Most houses are completed in 1–2 weeks depending on size and weather.

Roof Replacement FAQs

How long does a new roof last?

Natural slate can last over 80 years, clay tiles around 60 years and concrete tiles 40–50 years, provided the roof is installed and ventilated correctly.

Do I need planning permission for a new roof?

Like-for-like replacements usually don't need planning permission, but listed buildings and conservation areas often do. We work regularly in Bath and other conservation areas and can advise.

Can I stay in my home during a re-roof?

Yes. We work section by section and keep the roof watertight at the end of every day.
